Great Eastern Cutlery currently produces knives of superior quality under many names. Great Eastern itself owns the Great Eastern Cutlery, Northfield UN-X-LD, and Tidioute Cutlery brands. Several other contract brands are produced by the Great Eastern Cutlery craftsmen. These include Colonel Coon, Cripple Creek, Ulster, Walden, Schrade, Bulldog, and Tuna Valley.
Their namesake 440C stainless knives are produced under the Great Eastern Cutlery trademark. Some have been made on special contract in the past with 420HC steel, but all Great Eastern Cutlery knives marked with the Cyclops Steel Works tang stamp are their professionally heat treated 440C. Most of these come in mirror polish finish with nickel silver bolster(s), brass liners, and stainless backspring(s).
Tidioute Cutlery trademark knives are the standard product in the Great Eastern Cutlery catalog. Tidioute blades are stamped from 1095 steel and professionally heat treated to a perfect mix between hardness and maintainability. They are produced in a satin finish with nickel silver bolster(s), brass liners, and carbon backspring(s).
Finally, there is Northfield UN-X-LD trademark produced by Great Eastern Cutlery. Northfield blades are again stamped from 1095 steel and professionally heat treated same as the Tidioute blades. But Northfield knives are finished out a little nicer with the bells and whistles that land many specimens in a display case. Mirror polished blades with old school swedge cuts on most patterns. Threaded or lined bolsters, and pinched and/or slants on many bolsters for the extra pop in appearence.
